Setting up a new site with JSitemap for Google Search Console and Analytics

 

  1. Verify the site belongs to you. You may need to rename the .htaccess file while you do this. Remember to rename it back once verified.
  2. Add the Google analytics html file via file manager to the root of the site.
  3. Go to Google analytics and Create an account for the site name
  4. Add Google tag to Head/Body of template code
  5. Create Google Tag Manager code at https://tagmanager.google.com/
  6. Add the code to the Head and Body as generated
  7. Set up the Configuration in JSitemap
  8. Create an account in Google Search Console https://search.google.com/
  9. Add a Sitemap using the xml url
  10. Authenticate Google webmaster by linking to Google Account
  11. How to find the GA4 Google Tag Manager
  12. In Analytics go to Property > Admin > Property Settings > Data Collection and Modification > Data Streams…
  13. Click on existing data stream
  14. Scrolled down to Google Tag > Configure Tag Settings > Admin Tab > Tools > Launch tag assistant
  15. Enter URL of site press Connect
  16. Find the GA4 here: https://mysite.co.uk/?gtm_debug=1734462329779
  17. Enter the numeric tag in JSitemap configuration under the webmaster tab.
